TAXONOMY

Marumba maacki [sic] ochreata Mell, 1935, Mitt. zool. Mus. Berl. 20: 351. Type locality: China, Chekiang [Zhejiang], East Tien mo shan [Tianmu Shan], near Lin, 30.1°N 119.4°E, 1500-1600m.

Larval hostplants. Unknown, but probably species of Tilia; at least four species are known from the Tianmu Shan.

LOCAL DISTRIBUTION

China: Zhejiang (Tianmu Shan, 1500-1600m); ?Yunnan (near Weixi).


GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION

Endemic to the mountains of central-southen China. The individuals from Yunnan may turn out to be Marumba maacki maacki (Bremer, 1861) once barcodes are analysed, with populations extending south along the foothills of the Tibetan Plateau in a manner similar to Laothoe amurensis sinica (Rothschild & Jordan, 1903).
