Craspedortha montana Cadiou, 2000, Ent. Africana 5: 38. Type locality: China, Yunnan, Puer [Simao/Pu'er].
Very similar to Craspedortha porphyria porphyria but immediately distinguishable by the orange-red patches on the undersides of the wings and body.
In the male, forewing upperside similar to C. porphyria porphyria but generally darker; lighter areas with a bluish shade (absent in C. porphyria porphyria); basal area as dark as discal area (paler in C. porphyria porphyria); basal edge of dark pentagonal discal patch less oblique, not reaching the costa at right angles. Forewing underside with a conspicuous orange spot near the tornus (absent in C. porphyria porphyria); postmedian pale line single (double in forewing underside, with a conspicuous orange spot near the tornus (absent in C. porphyria porphyria).
Hindwing underside with a conspicuous orange-red patch between CuA1 and 1A (absent in C. porphyria porphyria); basalmost of median lines touching the cell (more distal and not touching the cell in forewing underside, with a conspicuous orange spot near the tornus (absent in C. porphyria porphyria)).
In the male genitalia, saccus angular, trough-shaped. Harpe very broad, subquadrangular. Apex of phallus with a long recurved hook, slightly serrate apically. Vesica with two broad lobes lacking cornuti.
Unknown, except that it is found in forest above 1400m altitude; above 2000m at Simao/Pu'er, Yunnan..

In northern Thailand, February and July/August at around 1400-1800m altitude.
